Dr. Sandhya Harpavat
DMD
Dr. Sandhya Harpavat is a board-certified pediatric dentist with more than 20 years of experience caring for children, teens, and patients with special needs. She trained at Harvard School of Dental Medicine and Boston Children’s Hospital, and as a mother of three, she brings a parent’s perspective to every visit, along with the kindness and compassion she hopes every patient feels in her care.
“My motto is take care of your patients just like you would take care of your own kids. I always let parents know that I would only suggest what I would for my own kids.”

In the office
Dr. Harpavat completed her residency at Boston Children’s Hospital, a tertiary care hospital, where she trained alongside both pediatric dentists and orthodontists. That experience prepared her to care for medically complex patients and patients with special needs, including many patients with autism and other neurodivergent needs. She considers it a privilege to care for them.
Her interest in airway-focused care grew from years of seeing children struggle with teeth grinding, mouth breathing, and snoring without clear solutions. After becoming a Toothpillow screening provider, she joined The Airway Dentists and is now helping families understand how breathing, sleep, growth, and oral development can connect.
Outside the office
Born in England, Dr. Harpavat grew up across Europe, Nigeria, India, and Singapore before landing in the United States in high school. She’s a dancer and a singer (if she weren’t a dentist, she says, she’d be a rock star), and she’s a devoted stair-master regular who also loves making healthy desserts.
Her family loves hiking and exploring new places, and they’ve visited many national parks together. And yes, she’s the mom who reminded her kids to brush their teeth even at summer camp.
