Dental Exams & Hygiene
A closer look at oral health and the bigger picture
We use routine visits to look at more than plaque and cavities alone. By paying attention to breathing, oral development, and function alongside dental health, we can catch concerns earlier and give patients a clearer picture of what is going on.
A More Complete Exam
Routine exams and hygiene visits help us look beyond plaque and cavities alone. They give us a chance to monitor how oral health, breathing, and development are changing over time—so small issues do not turn into bigger ones.
For Children
Children’s visits help us monitor growth, breathing, and oral development while those patterns are still taking shape. We look for early signs that the teeth, jaws, or airway may need support.
For Adults
Adult visits help us watch for inflammation, teeth grinding, reflux, gum disease, and other changes that can affect both oral health and overall wellbeing over time.
Dental Savings Plan
For patients without dental insurance, our Dental Savings Plan can make exams and cleanings easier to budget for. It includes preventive care and added discounts, with no waiting periods, no deductibles, and no annual maximums.
- Professional cleanings and doctor exams included
- Annual X-rays included
- 20% off most additional treatments, excluding airway and Invisalign®
- Available immediately, with no waiting period
HOW IT WORKS
What Happens During Your Visit
Health & Sleep Screening
We begin by reviewing your health history and asking about symptoms like snoring, energy levels, and headaches. These patterns can sometimes be connected to oral health, breathing, or sleep.
Low-Radiation 3D Imaging
When appropriate, we use CBCT imaging to get a more complete view of the teeth, jaws, and airway. This can help us spot issues that may not be as clear on traditional 2D X-rays.
Gentle Hygiene Care
Your hygienist performs a thorough cleaning to remove plaque and tartar. We also talk through preventive product options, including fluoride-free alternatives when that fits your preferences.
Clear Next Steps
If we find something that needs attention, we explain what we’re seeing, what it may mean, and what options make sense moving forward.
ASK THE EXPERTS
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do you ask about my sleep during a dental exam?
Because the shape of your mouth determines how well you sleep. If your jaw is too narrow or your tongue falls back, your airway collapses. As Airway Dentists, we are often the first healthcare providers to spot the physical signs of Sleep Apnea.
How often should I come in?
For most healthy patients, we recommend a cleaning and exam every 6 months. However, if you are undergoing airway treatment or managing gum disease, we may suggest more frequent visits to monitor your progress.
Do you see children for regular cleanings?
Absolutely. We love seeing kids! Our pediatric visits are designed to be fun and educational. We teach them healthy habits early and screen their growth at every single visit to ensure they are on the right track.
