WHAT IS AIRWAY DENTISTRY?
We’re closing the gap between dentistry and medicine.
Finally, there’s an interdisciplinary approach to health that addresses breathing and sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) where problems begin: in the mouth.

ABOUT AIRWAY DENTISTRY
Better bite, better sleep, better you.
Nasal breathing and quality sleep are foundational to health at all ages.
The Airway Dentists has built on the pioneering work of Dr. Christian Guilleminault at the Stanford Sleep Center—a psychologist and neurologist who placed dentistry at the cornerstone of treating sleep-disordered breathing (SDB). Using advanced orthodontics, we can significantly improve oral and overall health through airway expansion.
Breathing Powers Everything.
“What happens if I don’t get this treated?”
DID YOU KNOW?
Poor sleep linked to sleep-disordered breathing has lifelong consequences. Adults suffering from sleep-disordered breathing are 140% more likely to have cardiovascular disease, 60% more likely to have a stroke, and 30% more likely to have coronary heart disease.* By correcting SDB, we can greatly reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke in adults.
Children with SDB have a much higher chance than those without to develop behavioral issues such as ADHD. This finding comes from the largest study ever of pediatric sleep-disordered breathing patients - 11,000 kids in the UK.** Numerous other studies have shown that children with SDB often exhibit the same symptoms of inattention and hyperactivity that would lead to an ADHD diagnosis, and conversely, kids with ADHD often show symptoms of SDB! More importantly, ADHD symptoms improve and even resolve by treating SDB. By increasing oxygen levels with proper positioning during sleep, at pivotal developmental stages, we see improvements in child behavior, focus, memory, concentration, cognition, energy, mood, and school grades.

Lifelong Health Begins with a Breath
Imagine breathing through a garden hose vs. a straw. The hose is a healthy airway, the straw is not. There are many factors that constrict our airways like a straw.
